ANTHROPOMORPHIC HEAD-SHOT: Scroll through the pics to see more of this 1940s-50s Painted Aluminum Reproduction of a Ceremonial Sculpture known as "HACHA" (axe). It depicts a human face wearing a fish or dolphin headdress. This is a Mid Century copy of the original which is made of stone. Central Veracruz. Middle to late Classic Period (500-900 AD). The original is featured at the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF ANTHROPOLOGY in Mexico City.

This appears to have been made as an exterior architectural element. I found it in Mexico City.
26 cm tall. 20 cm deep. 3 cm thick.
